Brigitta is a chunky, cropped flared jacket that knits up in a weekend on #15 needles. It's almost instant gratification.
This is a great beginner project and also a fun way to learn new construction techniques. You'll learn about shoulder seams that are dropped to the back (this prevents a bulky seam on the shoulder) and sleeves that are started with a provisional cast-on so the cuffs are knitted down afterward (to get the exact sleeve length you want).
NOTE: The open design of this jacket accommodates a range of sizing. It can be left open in larger sizes or closed with an inch or so of overlap in the smaller sizes.
